Allergen Management
At Happy Yak, we understand the importance of accurate allergen information and take multiple steps to ensure transparency and safety in our products.
Our facility handles and processes several priority allergens recognized in Canada, including:
- Eggs
- Milk and milk derivatives (including lactose)
- Mustard
- Sesame seeds
- Peanuts and tree nuts
- Seafood (shrimp)
- Soy and soy derivatives
- Sulphites (above 10 ppm)
- Gluten and cereals containing gluten (wheat, oats)
Please note that fish is not used in our production facility.
Our Approach
We have implemented a comprehensive allergen control program designed to minimize the risk of cross-contact throughout our operations. Including, but not limited to:
- Clear identification of allergenic ingredients through labeling and color-coded systems.
- Verification of ingredient specifications and allergen status from suppliers
- Inspection of all raw materials upon arrival
- Dedicated storage practices for allergenic ingredients
- Separate handling and sanitation procedures for allergen-related tools and equipment
- Production scheduling designed to reduce cross-contact risk
- Validated cleaning procedures between production runs
- Ongoing employee training on allergen awareness and handling
Important Information
While we take every precaution to minimize cross-contact, our products are prepared in a facility where multiple allergens are present.
For this reason, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of trace allergens.
We recommend that customers with severe allergies carefully review ingredient information and consult with a healthcare professional if needed.
